Other companies interested in buying SanCor
Adecoagro has recently showed interest in taking over Morteros and Chivilcoy, the most efficient plants of SanCor, the Argentine dairy cooperative that is amid of a debt repayment crisis. Initially, Adecoagro wanted to fully acquire SanCor but then it has changed its plans due to severe financial problems at the cooperative. As a result, SanCor initiated informal talks with other interested parties. These include primarily foreign companies involved in the dairy business.

Agroterra completed winter wheat harvest faster than last year
News -Agroterra, a leading Russian crop producer, managed to finish the harvesting campaign of winter wheat within 7 days. The yields amounted to 3.8 t/ha on the background of the countrywide average of 3.6 t/ha. Since the area under winter wheat remained the same as in the previous year, the company demonstrated improvement of productivity. JBS records a loss of R$ 827 million
News -JBS Brazil closed the second quarter of 2018 with a consolidated loss of approximately R$ 827 million ($ 212 million). The company’s representatives maintain that, without the impact of R$ devaluation, JBS would reach a net profit of R$ 3 billion from April to June. Vicentin imports soy from Brazil
News -Vicentin, an Argentine agribusiness company headquartered in the Argentine town of Avellaneda, starts importing soy from Brazil due to soybean production shortages in Argentina. This measure seeks to supply soybeans to the processing plants of Vicentin in San Lorenzo, Ricardone, Avellaneda and Renova, which altogether make up the largest oilseed processing capacity in the world. The first 30,000 tonnes of Brazilian soybeans arrived in July while Vicentin has already imported 1 million tonnes of soybeans from the United States earlier this year. The severe droughts in Argentina have reduced the production of soybeans and compelled Vicentin to import soybeans to fully utilize its processing capacity. Vicentin is a diversified agribusiness company involved in processing and exports of cereals, oilseeds and cotton, production of wine and beef as well as in production and distribution of agrochemicals.
