Sancor loses its market share in key markets

News -

Financially-indebted Argentinean dairy cooperative SanCor is still waiting for the completion of negotiations in order to be purchased by the Luxembourg-based agricultural conglomerate Adecoagro. The deal is expected to ease the tension for the SanCor's position on both local and international markets. The company's share in total milk production in Argentina dropped from 33% in 2014 to 10% in 2017 and its share in total milk exports of the country decreased from 9% to 2% over the same period.

Official export ban to Frigorífico Concepción lifted

News -

The Ministry of Agriculture of Paraguay lifted the meat export ban to Israel, Russia, Taiwan, Chile and the EU for the company Frigorífico Concepción S.A., a leading producer and exporter of beef, biodiesel and leather in Paraguay. In May 2018 the company was accused of importing meat from Brazil without sanitary certification and then illegally re-exporting it. The government punished the company by granting it a one-year meat import ban and charging it a fine of $ 3 million. According to the audit results, the imported meat was distributed only within Paraguay and not exported abroad.

KazExportAstyk in the process of financial recovery

KazExportAstyk, a Kazakhstan-based company engaged in production and trade of grain and oilseeds, has begun the process of financial recovery and debt relief with the help of its new strategic partner Sberbank Investments LLC. The partners have agreed with KazExportAstyk's main creditors - Sberbank Russia and Amsterdam Trade Bank on early repayment at a discounted rate. Total debt amounted to $ 52 million, $ 32 million of which were repaid and the remaining of $ 20 million remitted by banks.The company's shareholders are the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (8.67%), Ruslan Moldabekov (44.68%) and LLP Investitsionnaya Kompaniya APK (46.65%).

Prodimex and EkoNivaAgro invest in a joint dairy project

News -

The largest in Russia sugar holding Prodimex, owned by Igor Hudokormov, has implemented a joint project together with the company EkoNivaAgro (part of the EkoNiva group managed by Stefan Dürr) to build three dairy farms in Voronezh region. The first of them, designed for 2,800 cows, is already being built in the Anninsky district. It should be put into operation by the end of this year. Two more farms will be built in the Bobrovsky and Buturlinovsky districts by 2020. The total number of cows at three farms will reach 8,400 heads. Prodimex invested about 15,000 hectares of land in the joint project.

The line includes the most popular consumer products - milk, kefir, cottage cheese and sour cream. The company plans to produce 600 tonnes of dairy products per month under the new brand, which will allow to double the turnover in 2019 to $ 32 million.
