Continental Farmers Group wants to buy Mriya
News -Continental Farmers Group (CFG) is negotiating the purchase of Mriya. The current price offered by Continental Farmers, does not suit Mriya yet. The main beneficiary of CFG is United Farmers Holding Company (UFHC) from Saudi Arabia. Kernel is also interested in buying Mriya.

MHP plans to buy the bankrupt Doux Group in order to recover it
News -The chairman of MHP, Yuriy Kosyuk, confirmed that MHP is considering to acquire Doux, but the final decision is still to be made. According to preliminary estimates, the amount of funds needed for the financial recovery of the French poultry manufacturer is 220 million Euro.

Miratorg started exporting meat to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain and Kuwait
News -Last year, Miratorg exported a record volume of 250,000 tons of meat. In the opinion of the president of the company, Viktor Linnik, this is only the beginning of the way. He believes that by 2025 the company can increase this figure by a factor of five to seven so the volume of meat exports makes $ 4-5 billion.

Kernel plans to reduce the land bank to 560,000 hectares
News -In summer of 2017 Kernel absorbed Ukrainian Agrarian Investments and Agro Invest Ukraine, which resulted in the expansion of the land bank to 602,500 hectares. After the expected optimization of the land bank, the area under cultivation in 2018 is going to be reduced to 560,000 hectares.

Donskoy bekon launched two more pig complexes in Russia
News -The company Donskoy bekon, which is apart of the AIC "Don" (the Russian project of the German holding Tönnies), launched two more pig farms in the Voronezh region. The farms Rastykaylovka and Trostiansky were commissioned in late 2017. Each of them is designed for 2,500 sows.

Defenseless giants: how agroholdings struggle with theft
News -Agricultural business in Ukraine faces the problem of theft. Since agroholdings consist of many clusters located in different regions of the country, central offices have difficulties in monitoring managers on the farms. The most common theft prevention programs of agroholdings include video surveillance, sensors that control the use of fuel, grain availability in grain containers and soil depth in the field as well as GPS monitoring. The latter, having a connection with satellites, allows controlling the mileage, speed, fuel consumption, number of stops, place and volume of refueling of machinery.
