Cygnet expanded its land bank to 29,000 hectares

News -

Cygnet Agrocompany acquired the agricultural enterprise "Ruzhinskiy Krai" (in Zhytomyr region of Ukraine). Due to this transaction the land bank of Cygnet expanded to 29,000 hectares. Cygnet Agrocompany is a group of agricultural companies with foreign capital, which specializes in the cultivation of corn, soy, wheat, sugar beet, the dairy farming and the production of sugar.

Agrocomplex increased milk production by 21% in 2017

News -

Agrocomplex named after Tkachev produced in 2017 171,000 tonnes of raw milk. In 2016, the output of milk was 141,000 tonnes. Thus, the production of milk increased during the past year by 21%. Aditionally the milk processing by own dairies grew by 10% to 124,000 tonnes. Agrocomplex now ranks second among the largest Russian producers of raw milk....

A mega-dairy loses its Waste Management Permit in Oregon

News -

Lost Valley Farm, the second largest dairy in Oregon, US, has 60 days to remove its 13,000 cows and clean manure lagoons due to improper waste management practices. Lost Valley Farm has been in operation for only 15 months, however it has violated numerous waste management laws. Therefore, the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has revoked the farm's waste management permit. According to Tillamook County Creamery Association the farm’s milk is characterized by low quality and unacceptably high levels of bacteria.

Almira owes UkrLandFarming $ 1.5 million

News -

250 employees of the dairy farms of UkrLandFarming, the second largest landowner in Ukraine, started a protest against the milk processing plant Gadyachsyr. The reason for the protest is the fact that Gadyachsyr has not paid for the delivered milk from the farms "Veprik Plus", "Mlinovskiy Complex", "Burinskoye", and "Shishatskoye". The total sum of the debt amounts to UAH 40 million ($ 1.5 million). Gadyachsyr is a part of the vertically integrated dairy holding Almira, which includes 7 milk processing plants and 6 trading companies in Ukraine. According to the Director of the Eastern Cluster of UkrLandFarming, Yuriy Scherbak, the residents of the villages are outraged by the situation and demand that Gadyachsyr pays off its debts.

Astarta-Kyiv invests $ 37.3 million in grain storage

News -

Astarta-Kyiv, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, will launch three new grain storage complexes in Poltava region in July: Yareski grain silo (with the capacity of 100,000 tonnes), Lutovynivka grain silo (100,000 tonnes) and Skorokchodove grain silo (30,000 tonnes). The total costs of the project amount to EUR 32 million ($ 37.3 million). The new silos are designed to satisfy the needs of Astarta's subsidiaries and of its partners. The construction of the elevators is a part of the investment program "Zerno Astarty" (engl. "Grain of Astarta"), according to which the company creates an elevator complex with a total storage capacity of 500,000 tonnes. 30% of the program's activities have yet to be accomplished.

Svarog West Group started the harvesting campaign

News -

Svarog West Group started the harvesting campaign of early grains, legumes and industrial crops. Among the first ones to begin with the campaign were the enterprises in the Kelmenetsky and Sokiryansky districts of the Chernivtsi region and in the Novoushitsky district of the Khmelnytsky region. In order to collect the harvest 45 combines and 160 units of transport are used. Svarog West Group Corporation operates 80,000 hectares in Khmelnitsky and Chernivtsi regions. The main activities include plant and livestock growing, production of fruits, berries and seeds, and storage services.

Microgauss S.A. evades $13.7 million of tax payments

News -

Microgauss S.A., a leading beef producer in Argentina, was accused by the AFIP (Federal Administration of Public Revenues of Argentina) for avoiding arg$ 13.7 million ($ 495,798) of taxes. AFIP also stated that the company omitted livestock holdings from its balance sheet. According to the AFIP, Microgauss S.A did not reflect the true level of activity of the company with an aim to illegally reduce the sum of taxes to be paid.

Eridon increased its land area to 39,000 hectares

News -

The Ukraine-based agricultural group of companies Eridon purchased the agricultural enterprise Kiev-Atlantic Ukraine. As a result of the transaction, Eridon received the right to lease 8,000 hectares of land. Eridon does not plan to further expand its land bank, but rather will focus on the construction of processing and storage facilities for agricultural products. At the moment the company operates 39,000 hectares. The total elevator capacities of the group exceed 30,000 tonnes. Eridon's main activities include production of seeds, distribution of fertilizers, plant protection products, and agricultural machinery, as well as technical services.

MHP expands its production and builds a new biogas plant

News -

The agroholding Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) launched the second line of production at Vinnytsia poultry farm. The total costs of the investment project are estimated at $ 300 million. MHP also announced its plan to launch one of the two planned biogas plants by the end of 2018 on the Vinnytsia poultry farm. The costs of the first stage of construction amount to $ 27 million. The electricity produced from chicken dung and waste will be supplied to the market, and the thermal energy will be used by the company, which will reduce its natural gas consumption by 40%. The construction of the second biogas plant will be finished in 2020.
