Agrogeneration to cultivate amaranth
23 August 2018
AgroGeneration, an agroholding operating 120,000 hectares in Ukraine, intends to allocate 20 hectares of land for amaranth production in 2019 to test the crop’s two varieties – Kharkiv-1 and Lera. As reported by the head of the Association of Amaranth Producers of Ukraine, Oleksandr Duda, AgroGeneration searched for a cash crop that improves soil fertility. If the revenue goal of UAH 10,000/ha is reached, the area under amaranth might be increased to 1,000 hectares by 2020.
