Agroprosperis: focus on digitalization and staff motivation

21 January 2019

Head of human resource management department at the Ukraine-based agroholding Agroprosperis Lyudmila Gorovaya shared the results of the company’s staff policy in 2018 and outlined the plans for 2019 in her interview to Latifundist.com. Last year the major focus was on staff development and motivation. Agroprosperis encouraged its employees to succeed within the company and managed to fill 4 top executive positions from within its existing workforce. Also, the company invested in technologies and digitalization. All business processes are now tracked by the automated key performance indicators (KPI) system, which removes the human factor in matters such as bonus distribution.

Another example of worker motivation used in the company is rewarding employees for their help in recruiting new workers. „Such peripheral positions as agronomist and tractor driver are of high demand at Agroprosperis. We have developed a rewarding program that encourages our employees to recommend good candidates for respective vacancies. If such candidate goes through a probation period, the employee receives a bonus. In 2018, this program helped us to close 60% of peripheral positions,” said Gorovaya.

For 2019, the company plans to continue implementing digital technologies. All agronomists at Agroprosperis use the tablets to promptly fill in the statistical data. To keep records on the quantity of spare parts for machinery, the same gadgets are to be used by engineers.

Agroprosperis is the Ukrainian agribusiness portfolio company of the US-based NCH Capital investment fund that operates a total of 820 thousand hectares of farmland in Russia and Ukraine.
