15 April 2020

Astarta, a Ukraine-based agroholding and leading sugar producer operating 250,000 hectares of farmland, has reduced the volumes of sugar exports 85% to 20,000 tonnes in 2019, as compared to 2018. The key driver behind this decline was a drop in the global sugar prices. Also, the company’s sugar sales fell 7% to 301,000 tonnes, while its sugar production decreased 14% to 302,000 tonnes. Astarta’s revenue was $127.5 million in 2019, a 2% decrease as compared to 2018. EBITDA of the company’s sugar segment amounted to $2.5 million.
