BrasilAgro to sell a farm for $ 44.1 million

BrasilAgro, one of Brazil‘s largest companies in terms of arable land use, announced its plan to sell a part of Jatobá Farm (an area of 9,784 hectares), located in the municipality of Jaborandi, Bahia. The sale price amounts to R $ 164.8 million ($ 44.1 million). The farm was acquired in 2007 and had intitially a total area of 31,606 hectares, of which 625 hectares were sold in July 2017. This transaction is a part of BrasilAgro's business strategy, which aims to realize capital gains from the sale of properties, in addition to profits from agricultural production.
