BRF recalls 500 tonnes of chicken due to risk of Salmonella contamination

The world's largest chicken exporter BRF S.A. recalled about 500 tonnes of chicken products due to the risk of Salmonella contamination. As stated by the company, 164 tonnes of fresh chicken were destined for the domestic market of Brazil and another 299.6 tonnes were destined for the export markets of Asia, Africa and Middle East. The recalled chicken products were produced at BRF’s processing plant in Dourados, currently operating under a special regime, with all produced food items being tested before leaving the production unit.
