Cherkizovo acquired 75% of Samson - Food Products

Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest vertically integrated meat producer, has acquired 75% of Samson - Food Products, a meat producer operating in the Leningrad region of Russia. As agreed by the two parties, Cherkizovo is to pay RUB 350 million ($5.22 million) and to redeem Samson’s debt in the amount of RUB 550 million ($8.2 million). The total value of the transaction is to be reported later.
With this purchase, Cherkizovo plans to strengthen its position in the North-Western Federal District of Russia. Samson Food Product Group will be able to carry out day-to-day activities and to perform management independently. Also, the deal will allow Samson to expand its markets.
