Chinese large pig farms to be tested for African swine fewer

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China intends to fight the spread of African swine fewer among Chinese pig farms through early detection and prevention activities. The Ministry encourages large scale pig farms to test their pigs for the disease and is to approve special testing kits for this purpose. Also, the authorities are to allocate funding for the companies willing acquire the testing kits. According to the Ministry’s estimations, up to 200 million of pigs might be affected by the deadly virus in China in 2019, causing the shortage of pork throughout the country.
