CP Foods to expand pig business in Russia

CP Foods, a global agro-industrial and food company, wants to build a new pig farm in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia in 2024-2025. The new facility will be similar to the farms already operated by the company in the region. In particular, CP Foods owns two pig farms maintaining 180,000 pigs each and is currently constructing two further pig farms of the same capacity.
Also, CP Foods plans to acquire APK Don, a Russia-based subsidiary of German meat producer Tönnies. That deal with expected worth of US$ 290 million is to be closed in early 2022.
