EkoNiva, Russia’s largest producer of raw milk, plans to construct a cheese plant in the village of Payvino of the Novosibirsk region. The first stage of the project is to be launched by 2021. The total worth of investment is estimated at $329 million. The plant will produce hard and semi-hard cheese, butter, milk and cream. Raw milk will be delivered to the facility from the company’s dairy farm in the Altai Krai, which is currently under construction. After reaching full capacity in 2022, the facility will process 420,000 tonnes of milk annually. In 2024, the plant is expected to start exports of dairy products to China.
