EkoNiva to produce organic beef

06 December 2019

EkoNiva, the largest Russian producer of raw milk, plans to completely reorient all its beef farms to the production of organic beef by mid-2021. The company wants to get its organic production certified internationally, in particular by the EU. To formalize all the processes, EkoNiva established three new legal entities which are 100% owned by EkoNiva: Severnaya Niva Organic (the Orenburg region), Siberian Niva Organic (the Novosibirsk region) and Stupinskaya Niva Organic (the Moscow region). For now, the total number of beef cattle at the EkoNiva’s farms exceeds 8,300 animals, out of which 3,500 are breeding cows. By 2025, EkoNiva plans to increase its breeding stock to 12,000 cows.
