Eurodon to liquidate its parent flock

12 February 2019

Eurodon, a Russia’s leading poultry producer, reported on the intention to liquidate its parent flock in the amount of 34,000 birds and carry out a complete sanation of its production sites, due to the ongoing outbreaks of bird flu, which have led to losses of about 1.6 million turkeys since 2016. With this measure Eurodon expects to reduce the production costs on maintenance of the parent flock as well as to increase its investment attractiveness.

At the same time, Eurodon-Yug, a subsidiary of Eurodon, has been put under control by the Arbitration Court of the Rostov Region of Russia. One of Eurodon’s creditors, Vnesheconombank (VEB), has filed a lawsuit against the company in a total amount of RUB 10.1 billion ($153.5 million) for not repaying its debt.
