Food safety scandal: 11 former employees of BRF charged

BRF, a Brazil-based and the world’s leading meat producer, has been lately involved in a food safety scandal. Brazil’s federal prosecutors charged the company’s 11 former employees including two former vice-presidents of falsifying the documents and labels between 2012 and 2018 and use of banned ingredients for production of livestock feedstuff as well as deceiving the federal auditors during the quality checks. This way, the accused persons have reportedly put at risk the safety of the consumers. BRF reports that none of its current employees has been accused of illegal actions and that it is ready to cooperate with the prosecution.
