Grain Alliance to develop own railcar park
17 February 2021
Grain Alliance, a Ukraine-based agroholding, has bought 54 grain railcars from a local Ukrainian producer. The company plans to develop its own freight park to cover its needs for secure and reliable grain transportation. The key driver behind this decision is poor quality of public freight rail transport in Ukraine. According to the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine, over 90% of rail freight transport countrywide is outdated. The first railcars have already been delivered to the company’s subsidiary Berezan Elevator in the Kyiv region.
