20 December 2019
JBS, a Brazil-based meat producer, plans to import nearly 200,000 tonnes of corn in response to increased domestic prices. The corn shipments, likely originating from Argentina or Paraguay, will allegedly arrive in early 2020, when supply is expected to decline. Corn prices have increased more than 30% since September 2019 reaching a record high since August 2016.
