Kernel invested $130 million in new oil extraction plant

Kernel, Ukraine’s largest producer of sunflower oil, is busy with building a new oil extraction plant in the Khmelnytskyi region. At the moment, the company is completing the first construction stage including the construction of the administrative buildings and the elevator complex. The plant with designed annual processing capacity of 1 million tonnes of sunflower seeds is expected to become one of the most powerful and modern plants in Europe.
The worth of investments in the project is $130 million. In addition, a thermal power station with the capacity of 23MWt on the plant’s premises will process oilseed residues into electricity. The second stage of construction works is to be completed until 2022.
