Large scale farm in China hit by deadly disease

China is suffering its biggest and most serious outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) at the moment.  The deadly disease was confirmed on a 20,000-head pig farm in Liaoning province. So far only small family farms have been hit by the disease. Large scale commercial farms have stayed clear of the virus until now. According to Yao Guiling, analyst at China-America Commodity Data Analytics, the fact that the disease was confirmed on a big pig farm shows that it got more serious. Big companies usually have better biosecurity measures. The new outbreak highlights the difficulty in controlling the crises.
