MHP: poultry production up 4% in Q1 2020

MHP, Ukraine’s largest poultry producer, produced 178,640 tonnes of poultry in Q1 2020, a 4% increase as compared to Q1 2019. MHP’s domestic sales rose 7% to 75,680 tonnes of poultry in Q1 2020, with a growing tendency in frozen poultry sales. At the same time, MHP reports a 12% decline in the volumes of poultry exports to 82,000 tonnes in Q1 2020, as compared to the same period last year, due to COVID-19-related restrictions. Also, MHP had to significantly shorten its export destinations in January-March 2020.
