Miratorg: beef production up 32%

Miratorg, Russia’s largest beef and pork producer operating 94 farms in 6 regions of Russia, increased its production of beef in live weight in 2018 up to 142,500 tonnes, an increase of 32% compared to 108,000 tonnes in 2017. So far, the total livestock of the company exceeds 600,000 heads of Aberdeen Angus breed.
Miratorg plans to increase its livestock herd to 1 million heads by 2021. The current production capacity of the holding is 150,000 tonnes of beef per year. In 2018, Miratorg also increased the production of pink veal on its farm in the Kursk region by almost 3 times to 7,340 tonnes in live weight.
Along with the construction of livestock sites, Miratorg plans to launch the fourth meat processing plant and a slaughterhouse by 2021. The total volume of investment will exceed RUB 5 billion ($75 million).
