Miratorg launched new meat processing facility

Miratorg, the largest beef and pork producer in Russia, has launched the first stage of the project aimed to double its pork production capacities – a new meat processing facility in the Kursk region. The enterprise is expected to become the largest in Europe with production volumes of over 138 tonnes of sausages per year. The processing capacity of the facility will reach 4.5 million pigs per year or 503,500 tonnes of pork in slaughter weight.
The launch of the second phase of the project – an automated slaughterhouse – is scheduled for 2021. Investments in the project are estimated at about $ 2.3 billion, of which over $ 984 million will be allocated for the robotization of the slaughterhouse.
