Muyan Foods built world’s largest pig farm

Muyan Foods, China’s large-scale pig producer, has finished the construction of a new pig mega farm consisting of 21 multi-storey buildings. With a designed maintenance capacity of 84,000 sows and expected annual production volume of 2.1 million pigs, the facility is to become the world’s largest pig farm. The company has already started operations at the first of the farm’s 21 buildings.
In the first nine months of 2020, Muyuan recorded net profit of $3.21 billion, a 1,413%-increase as compared to the same period last year. The key driver behind this result was a sharp growth in pig prices.
