Otrada Group to invest in pig breeding farms

Otrada Farms, a farming division of the Russia-based Otrada Group, plans the construction of pig feedlots with a fattening capacity of 8,000 tonnes per year and a breeding farm for 2,300 sows in 2019-2020. The estimated value of the investment is RUB 7 billion (about $ 106.4 million). The implementation of the project will allow the company to increase the breeding stock to 34,500 animals. The total annual production of pigs will be doubled, reaching 1 million heads. The output of pork will increase from 47,000 tonnes to 90,000 tonnes per year.
