Ovostar Union: egg production up 5% in Q1 2021

Ovostar Union, a vertically integrated Ukrainian egg producer, reported a 5% YoY increase in egg output to 411 million eggs in Q1 2021 (Q1 2020: 392 million eggs). The company exported 64 million shell eggs in Q1 2021, a 21%-decrease as compared to the same period last year (Q1 2020: 81 million eggs). The average price of eggs rose 47% to 0.087 $/egg in Q1 2021, as compared to Q1 2020 (0.059 $/egg). Egg processing volume fell 26% YoY and was 112 million eggs in Q1 2021 (Q1 2020: 152 million eggs). In Q1 2021, the company produced 653 tonnes of dry egg products, of them 462 tonnes were exported, and 2 922 tonnes of liquid egg products, of them 796 tonnes were exported.
