26 November 2019
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) declares the owner of one of Ukraine’s largest agroholdings UkrLandFarming and former owner of VAB Bank Oleh Bahmatyuk wanted in charge of money-laundering, embezzlement and illicit enrichment. In response, Mr. Bahmatyuk insists that NABU and National Police are making baseless allegations, driven by the personal interest of the director of NABU Artem Sytnyk. Earlier, Mr. Bahmatyuk made an open statement appealing to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and addressing the issue of unauthorized inspections at UkrLandFarming's enterprises and pressure on his business by the NABU and Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. For now, Oleh Bahmatyuk is staying abroad.
