Prodimex closed a sugar factory

Prodimex, Russia’s leading sugar producer operating 16 sugar plants, closed the Sadovsky sugar factory, which is located in the Voronezh region of Russia. According to Prodimex group, Sadovsky sugar factory was built in 1834 and is the smallest factory of the company. During the 2018 production season, the factory processed 152,000 tonnes of sugar beet and produced 22,450 tonnes of sugar.

The Sadovsky enterprise revenue in 2017 amounted to RUB 811 million ($ 12.2 million) while the net profit was RUB 3.4 million ($ 51,000). After shutting down the Sadovsky factory, Prodimex plans to reemploy all its personnel at the reconstructed Pereleshinsky sugar refining mill in the Voronezh region.
