Rusagro: sugar production up 17%

Rusagro, one of the largest Russian agroholdings, increased sugar production 17% to 882,600 tonnes in 2019 as compared to 2018. In total, Rusagro processed 6.1 million tonnes of sugar beets while the share of own-produced sugar beets by the company amounted to 62%. The average sugar content was estimated at 18.4%.
Also, Rusagro produced 31,200 tonnes of sugar from molasses and plans to produce another 90,000 tonnes until the start of the next season. Rusagro’s revenues in its sugar business segment grew 23% to $122.4 million in 2019 due to a 110% increase in sugar sales as compared to 2018.
