Share of domestically produced agricultural machinery at Ukrainian farms expanding

A recent report prepared by a Ukrainian consulting agency Pro-Consulting shows that the share of domestically produced agricultural machinery on the Ukrainian market of agricultural machinery doubled from 2016 to 2019 to 33%. This way, each third unit of agricultural machinery acquired by Ukrainian farms in 2019 came from Ukrainian manufacturers. At the same time, imported tractors and combines keep prevailing on the market wit a share of 66%.

The report outlines that machinery of Ukrainian origin mainly has strong capacity characteristics and, therefore, is usually acquired by larger farms. Meanwhile, smaller farms tend to buy used tractors of small capacity from China, USA, or Germany.
