Damate to modernize its lamb production plant

Damate, one of Russia’s largest poultry producers, has started the reconstruction of its lamb production plant Kavkaz Myaso in Cherkessk, Russia acquired in early 2020. Modernization is to be completed by mid-2021 while the total investment in the project is estimated at $35 million. The designed annual capacity of the plant is 720,000 heads or 12,600 tonnes of lamb in carcass weight. 

The plant will produce prefabricated lamb, minced meat, marinades and canned food in compliance with Halal and Kosher standards. On the premises of the facility, there will be a farm maintaining 54,000 sheep.
