Damate to relaunch production at Donstar in Q3 2020

Damate Group, the largest turkey producer in Russia, was authorized to rent the production capacities of a Russia’s former largest duck meat producer Donstar by the creditors committee of the latter. Back in early 2020, Damate acquired the claim rights over the Donstar’s loan to Rosselkhozbank. Damate plans to relaunch production at Donstar in Q3 2020.
The experts consider the HoReCa companies as the key consumer market for duck meat in Russia. However, Russian HoReCa segment has experienced a sharp decline over the last months due to COVID-related restrictions in Russia, which might impact the success of Damate’s project.
