EkoNiva: cost of milk production up 10% in 2020

EkoNiva, the largest Russian producer of raw milk, reports about the rising costs of raw milk production. Within seven months of 2020, the production costs increased 10%, as compared to the same period last year. Due to the COVID-19- related restrictions, the company had to adjust the investment strategy and reduce expenditures for the current year. Also, the cattle feeding plans as well as crop management practices have been revised as a result of currency fluctuations and logistics inconveniences. At the same time, EkoNiva reports of being prepared for another possible escalation of the pandemic.
