EkoNiva Group, the Russian ‘daughter’ of the Germany-based company Ekosem-Agrar and Russia’s largest milk producer, has doubled its milk production within the last 1.5 years.

In January-September 2018, the amount of milk production equalled 350,620 tonnes. The daily output for the same period rose from 1,090 tonnes to 1,400 tonnes. According to the company, the annual production volume is expected to reach 500,000 tonnes by the end of 2018, exceeding the result of year 2017 by 68%. The total number of cattle in the reporting period increased by 32% to 128,560 cows, while the number of dairy cattle rose by 27% to 57,060 cows.

EkoNiva expects productivity increase to strengthen its leading position on the raw milk market. Therefore, its new umbrella brand "EkoNiva" for the company’s fresh milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese, semi-hard cheese and H-milk will be launched in November 2018.
