EkoNiva, the largest producer of raw milk in Russia, plans to invest RUB 70 billion ($ 1 billion) in the construction of milk processing facilities during the next 7 years. By 2025, the company plans to process the whole volume of milk produced by its farms. As of today, EkoNiva’s farms produce 1,500 tonnes of raw milk per day while the company’s processing capacity equals 600 tonnes per day. By 2021, the company plans to increase its daily milk output to 5,000 tonnes. According to EkoNiva’s CEO Stefan Duerr, the increase in primary milk production is the main driver behind the construction of processing facilities.
