JBS and BRF to lose positions on Saudi Arabia’s poultry market

JBS and BRF, the world’s largest meat producers, have reportedly been affected by an import ban imposed by the authorities of Saudi Arabia. In particular, Saudi Arabia has revoked the certification of five Brazilian meat plants, including the divisions of the abovementioned companies. In 2018, Saudi Arabia was top importer of Brazilian poultry with a total of 433,500 tonnes of chicken products supplied to the country. Due to this measure, the shares of BRF fell almost 2 percent. Both companies refused to comment on the issue.
