Rusagro launched new pork plant

Rusagro, a Russia-based agroholding, has lately launched a new pork plant in the Prymorsky Krai. The facility is designed to slaughter 680,000 heads and produce 65,000 tonnes of pork annually. After reaching full capacity, the plant is expected to provide pork to 80% of the population in the region. At the same time, about 10% of pork produced at the facility will be exported to the countries of Asia. 

Earlier, Rusagro has announced its mid-term plans to raise its annual pork production up to 400,000 tonnes in live weight.
