SLC Agrícola invests in human resources and new technologies

30 January 2020

SLC Agrícola, one of Brazil’s largest agricultural producers, reports to have reduced the rates of staff turnover to 15% in 2019, as compared to 40% in 2013. The company also reports its employees to have spent up to 74 hours on education and training programs developed by the company in 2019. In 2020, SLC Agrícola will continue investing in human resources, expecting to increase its efficiency and productivity levels.
At the same time, the company plans to implement new technologies. By 2021, SLC Agricola wants to digitize its production processes and install 4G network at all of its 16 subsidiaries. With this decision, it is expected to use specific technology solutions to better control pests and crop diseases, for example, by localizing affected plants or applying agrochemicals more accurately which would allow for savings of up to 90%.
As of September 2019, the company’s total sales reached $ 400 million, an increase of 32% as compared nine months of 2018. The key factor behind this increase is the growing demand from China for commodities produced in Brazil as a result of the trade war between the U.S. and China.
