Sucden took controlling interest in Trio’s sugar plant

Sucden, a France-based group of companies running sugar business in Russia, has acquired 51.5% of the Eletskiy sugar plant, a subsidiary of the Russia-based Trio agroholding, engaged in crop, livestock and sugar production. With this acquisition, Sucden strengthened its position on the Russian sugar market while its sugar processing capacities rose to 33,000 tonnes of sugar beet per day. The Eletskiy sugar plant produces sugar beet on the area of 23,000 hectares of farmland located close to its processing facilities.
