Ekoniva is No. 1 milk producer in Russia in 2017

According to the ranking, prepared by the market analytics agency Milknews and consulting agency Streda, Ekoniva became Russia’s largest milk producer in 2017, with the result of 300,000 tonnes of raw milk. Ekoniva is a Russian ‘daughter’ of the Germany-based company Ekosem-Agrar. As of July 1st 2018, the company owns 110,500 cows, including 51,800 forage-fed cows. The second largest milk manufacturer Agrocomplex named after Tkachev produced 171,000 tonnes of milk, followed by a Tatarstan-based agroholding Ak Bars with the result of 115,000 tonnes. Ranked fourth and fifth were Pokrovsky Concern with 105,000 tonnes and Piskarev Milk Plant with 103,500 tonnes. In general, the top-20 list was made up by the companies with milk production of more than 44,000 tonnes per year.
