Rusagro purchased a hog farm for $ 27.9 million

Rusagro, controlled by Vadim Moshkovich, the ex-senator of the Belgorod region, purchased the CJSC Capitalagro and the trading house Capitalagro LTD in the Belgorod region. The price amounted to RUB 1.8 billion ($ 27.9 million). The net debt of the acquired companies amounted to RUB 1.9 billion ($ 29.5 million). The companies include hog farms with 10,400 sows and a slaughterhouse with the slaughter capacity of 400,000 pigs per year. Rusagro plans to modernize the acquired hog farms and the slaughterhouse, investing about RUB 300 million ($ 4.6 million). As a result of the transaction, Rusagro expects to increase its market share. The Rusagro group is the third largest pork producer in Russia with a market share of 5.4%. According to the National Union of Pig Producers, the group produced 207,420 tonnes of pork in 2017.
